PUMPKINS, PUMPKINS, AND MORE PUMPKINS
Two weeks ago I went with MariJose, a lady from the church here in Caceres, to Bejar, a town 1 hour north of here, to be a part of a womens outreach. It was exciting to see over 30 ladies who are not a part of the church show up to be a part of the activity. WOW...the ladies of the church we surprised, excited, and overwhelmed.MariJose and I made 6 types of desserts using pumpkin. I shared a short devotional using pumpkins as my visual aide. MariJose taught the ladies how to make a fabric pumpkin. AND you should have seen how MariJose decorated the church with tons of pumpkins...I even looked like a pumpkin that night.
MariJose is so gifted in this crafty area. It was special for me to see her use her gifts in another church. Often times we find that the Spaniards in our churches don't have much of a vision to reach out to other Spaniards in their town much less in other towns. So to see MariJose be excited about reaching out to the ladies of Bejar and then to see God bring sooo many ladies...it was an awesome experience.
Our World Team teammates have been working in Bejar for many years. The women of their church have been reaching out to the ladies of this town over the years through different outreaches. God is doing some amazing things in these relationships and having so many come to the outreach was a real encouragement. Please pray with us for the ladies of Bejar.
On Tuesday, December 1st, we will be having a womens outreach here in Caceres. MariJose has chosen the theme...snowmen...and I imagine that there will be an explosion of snowmen in our church. Pray that the ladies of the church will be motivated to invite their friends, that these friends will want to come...and that they will experience Jesus in the time we have together.
