AND THEN THERE WAS TWO
Tim's focus in El Puente over the last 4 years has been to teach and train leaders. It is our desire to see El Puente being led by 3 Spanish leaders. This would seem to not be such a hard task...but here in Spain it is.
Fernando is the one Spanish leader that Tim has worked along side of over these last years and we have been so blessed to watch God grow him into a true leader in the church. But we have prayed and asked you to pray that God would bring someone else to work with Fernando.
This last year, Seve, a man that Tim has worked with over the years, came to Tim and let him know that he felt God calling him to work with Fernando in leading El Puente. Yeah God!!!
In January, the church voted Seve in as the second Spanish elder of El Puente..."...and now there are 2". We are soo thankful for what we see God doing in the heart of Seve. We are filled with hope as we watch Seve and Fernando work together in leading the church. The foto above is not of Tim handing Seve an "elders certificate"...but it is of Seve handing Tim a champions certificate for dart throwing. Seve has been organizing mens events over the years...and this was the most recent one.
MariJose is Seve's wife. I have shared lots about this amazing woman. She is soo incredibly gifted. Her passion is creativity whether it be doing crafts, decorating the church, or putting together a bulletin of some sort. We have been encouraged to watch Seve and MariJose take on the task of doing a family counseling course by extension over the past two years. They are beginning to put into practice some of the things they are learning by counseling some of their friends. Just recently they decided to post a sign on the door of the church that announces that every Wednesday the doors of the church will be open for anyone to come in who might want to talk about hard life issues.
David and Juan are MariJose and Seve's sons. They are in that tough age of finding Jesus for themselves...making it a personal relationship instead of just the tradition of the family. Many of the decisions they have made this last year have been hard for Seve and MariJose. We are praying especially for Juan as he has decided not to come to church at all. Thank you for praying for this Spanish family who is choosing to love Jesus and follow Him even though the culture they live in is walking and living in the opposite manner.
