AN ESCAPE TO THE ISLANDS

For Christmas, Tim gave me a trip to Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands...Spanish islands off the coast of Africa. Surprise and Yippeeee. So in February when we were being drenched with day in, day out rains and cold temperatures, we flew off to the islands to spend some much needed alone time together.
Europe has these airlines that are what we call "cattle car airplanes", that allow you to fly throughout Europe for very little...YEAH!!! AND we got to know a couple last year in Caceres who now lives in Tenerife...and they welcomed us into their home for a few days.
This is Dan and Anna...Dan plays professional basketball for the team on the island and last year he played for Caceres. It was fun to spend time with them...enjoying great talks, lots of laughs and fun site seeing adventures.

Tim and I escaped in Dan and Anna's car to go and explore the volcanoe on the island...Teide. No worries as it is said to be inactive...hasn't errupted since the beginning of the 1900's. But how beautiful it was. The higher we drove the more we felt like we were on the moon as all the rocks were lava rocks and the terrain was obviously formed from the lava flowing from the volocanoe in the times in has errupted over the years.

It was soo good to have time alone with my husband...to catch up on things of our hearts...to rest and catch our breath a bit. We are so thankful for the moments we get like this one to keep our love fires burning...17 years and still my husband makes my stomach do flips. I am hoping that you all are taking time for your marriages too...it is so worth it and we don't slow life down enough to keep our relationships healthy.

So take your wifey or hubby on a date...you won't be sorry!!!!
